At St John’s we encourage the ministries and involvement of all members of the church. We seek to support each other in the things we do in the wider community.
Vicar:
We give thanks for 10 years of vibrant and faithful ministry from Rev'd Howard Langmead. Howard left St. John's in April 2010 to take up a new era of ministry at St Paul's Anglican Church Malvern.
Whilst the parish seeks a new incumbent, Interim Ministry is being provided by Rev'd Michelle Wade. Michelle has been ordained for 7 years and worked in different ministry positions for a decade prior to that. She lives in Yarraville with her two children.

Lay Pastoral Workers:
St John's strongly affirms the ministry of all believers and members are involved in the day to day running, pastoral care and leadership of the parish. In particular, this includes Helen who does administration in the church office 8 hours a week. |

Pastoral counselling and prayer are available by appointment. Baptisms, weddings and funerals can be arranged in consultation with the vicar. We love baptising people in a local pool or at the beach, but still offer the small font in church as an option.
St John’s in context
St. John’s is part of the delightfully diverse Diocese of Melbourne. Our Archbishop is Philip Freier. We are in theNorthern and Western region of the diocese and our Regional Bishop is Philip Huggins.
Decisions about parish life, directions and finances are made by the Vestry which consists of the vicar, three churchwardens and other members of vestry. Churchwardens and members of vestry are elected at the Annual General Meeting of the parish.
